CIRCUMNAVIGATION COMPLETE

Circumnavigating the world was the most difficult, exhausting, terrifying, and extraordinary thing I have ever done. Over 43,000 nautical miles, 30 countries, and 157 stops, the ocean stripped life down to its most honest form. There was nowhere to hide from fear, fatigue, failure, or myself. Every passage demanded something different, and every landfall gave something back.

I saw beauty I still struggle to describe: the limestone islands and impossible blue water of Palau, the wild originality of Madagascar, the remote anchorages of Indonesia, the reefs of Fiji, the emptiness of the Indian Ocean, and the raw power of South Africa’s coast. Some days felt almost unreal. Others were simply about endurance—staying awake, fixing what broke, making the next decision, and refusing to quit when quitting would have been easier.

There were storms, injuries, mechanical failures, loneliness, fear, and moments when the distance left to travel felt greater than anything I could carry. But adversity has a way of changing shape when you keep moving through it. What once felt impossible becomes the next mile, then the next sunrise, then another country appearing on the horizon.

The journey changed me because it demanded everything. It taught me that strength is not the absence of fear or pain. It is continuing while carrying both. I left looking for the world and found something much harder to reach: a deeper understanding of myself, of resilience, and of how astonishingly beautiful life can be when you refuse to stop moving forward, against the odds.

"The best way to find out Kitty is to get her out on the ocean. If anything is going to happen, it's going to happen out there."

Marina Family

Rarely in life are you fortunate enough to be in the right place and right time to live somewhere surrounded by such truly authentic people.  The love from them means absolutely everything to me.  Leaving this place and these people is going to be one of the most difficult things I have ever done.

The Parentals

This trip would not be possible without the love and support from my amazing parents.   I have said it a hundred times, I am the luckiest man in the world to have them in my life.  I know I will make them proud on this journey.   I called them 3 months ago and said "How cool would it be to have someone that circumnavigated in the family."   And here we are! it's actually is a reality!
